Almost forgot to blog today,
so lost was I in productivity… my head was in the clouds…

and when I say ‘head in the clouds’… today… I think of brightly-coloured flourescent clouds hanging above me in a multi-coloured world…   :)
Cute work huh?

You can see more at the Behance site of Zim & Zou.

Greetings Visionaries!

It’s great loving Mondays. When I used to work full-time in an office Mondays were always the great day of dread, but now they’re sanctuary day. Time for work and peace and exercise :) How’s everyone doing today?

I thought I’d better let you all know that I am soon off on another adventure. I know I know, it’s been a stupid year travel-wise. I’ve honestly never been away so many times in one year, and my wallet will never forgive me(!), but, well, on the 7th I’m up and off to Israel again to experience the Jewish holidays with Mr Visionarie’s family :)

Don’t worry, I will be taking you guys with me as always. It wouldn’t feel right not blogging and taking pictures, so all will be well.

In the meantime, we could all use a little rainbow rubbing off on us, couldn’t we? hehe Gotta love this picture :)

More tea pictures!!

This Ginger cake & lemon icing is my mom’s recipe (thanks mom) & she in turn got it from a lovely lady who we will honour here too in spirit. It was so yummy! Made the whole house smell of freshly baked cakery yumminess!

Happy Thursday Visionaries ;)

time for tea...

So for my birthday, I decided to have a little party.

I have ignored celebrating it for a few years now, and it felt like the right time to pay attention and celebrate a little, time to have a ‘gathering’…

Sick of the usual dinner or drinks, and being all grown up, I decided that By Jove(!) tea was just the ticket, and so, a tea is what I held… what do you think?

Baking my mom’s fresh Ginger Cake with Lemon Icing, Fresh Flowers, Little cards of british tea pompery, and great friends.

It was lovely…

Greetings Visionaries!

Apologies for my silence today, I’ve had some lovely news, which has kept me very busy packaging up Spoonfuls for new readers who have found me through the Enriched List - some of you guys already know about the Enriched List, in which case, please ignore this paragraph, but for those of you who don’t, it’s a list of people selected once a year who are pursuing their passions and thus enriching their own lives and the lives of others.

I feel almost unworthy of the honour to be honest, as there are so many wonderful people doing life-changing things out there, but well, it’s exciting at the same time :) To see some of those other people head over to The Enriched List Page and have a peek. I liked reading about Michael Mobbs & his wild raspberries planted on the streets; Ronni Kahn who feeds the hungry with food that would have just gone to waste; and Clare Press, who designs a vintage inspired fashion label and believes that we should enjoy and create beauty all around us, living graciously; the way you might serve tea and dainty cakes or arrange flowers in a crystal vase…

To growing our own food, wild raspberries on our streets, beautiful dresses, flowers & apple orchards just down the road…

Greetings Visionaries!

My mom bought this orchid months and months ago and it’s such a graceful & grateful little plant, blooming its heart out for the city of Sydney ;) I water it every Sunday and it sits here by the window very happily watching the world go by…

My headache is floating with me a bit. Very annoying, but I’m just taking things a bit slow as a result. Off to post spoonfuls today. What you guys up to?

Hope you’re having a beautiful day!

Greetings Visionaries!!

Just a short hello today as I’m trying to be well-behaved and get lots of work done, lol, the energy of mondays! But a few things first…

1.) Thanks for all the help deciding about Spoonful Issue 1. I have now reprinted a small limited edition batch of them and have them for sale here at the Spoonful shop.

2.) I’m hugely excited as I’m designing some products. Things that can be gifts, useful, and perhaps stocking stuffers out just before christmas… I’m trying to create some things in keeping with the Spoonful spirit, so hopefully they will turn out well! They’re looking pretty, (hehe I hope!!) I hope you guys will approve!

3.) And finally, before I dissappear I just wanted to share with you the gorgeous photos of Alieh… Aren’t they beautiful? Go have a squizz at her flickr account, there are many gems amongst the group.

Lemons, Lemon Meringue Pie & Birthday presents...

great combination wouldn’t you say?

I disappeared yesterday to turn a year older.

I was a tad, I don’t know, unenthusiastic about the whole thing, but thanks to my very beautiful family, friends (shout out to Steph!!), & Mr Visionary it was truly lovely. I felt most loved and lucky and all the better despite the extra grey hairs accumulated ;)

My sister baked an insanely
naughtily good Lemon Meringue Pie and I just about died.

A friend of mine said you either make it to your birthday, or you don’t, in which case you’re dead, so you might as well celebrate that you’re in the former category and forget everything else. Wise words!!!

Greetings Visionaries!

Our house is smelling sumptuous and light on the scent of these beautiful lilies I bought on the weekend, mmmmm… They cost much more than I would usually pay, but they are so so elegant and beautifully dramatic that I feel they were an investment in the next 2 weeks… & already I’m loving each minute…

How is everyone? How was your weekend?
Mr Visionary & I marvelled at the beautiful cinematic sweeping landscapes of Scotland whilst learning its history by watching ‘The History of Scotland’. Highly recommended if you like that sort of thing.. many kings.. stones & bloody tales :)

Aside from that we discovered the wonders of ice-cream & grape flavoured licorice, munching on soured sugars as we walked walk home in the cold breeze & warming sun that was Sunday afternoon…

Huge hugs!! & thanks for the advice on spoonful. I think I will do one last limited edition print run, and woila! End of the issue!

Happy Monday!

I need to ask you guys a question… I guess you could call it a business question (as businessey as thea gets - hehehe) but I’ve been pondering the issue, and thought perhaps more minds would be better than one.

Right, Spoonful 1 is sold out. (has been for a few weeks now)
I reprinted it once, I’m busy selling Issue 2, & I’m currently creating Issue 3, Yes? Everyone with me?

Mr V has been saying that I should print more of issue 1, I’ve been clinging to the idea that it was done, that’s that. And now a few people have asked if I have any hidden away somewhere, as they’d like the first issue for their collection… what to do? Should I reprint issue 1, or wait for Issue 3 and say too bad?

Have I given you guys enough info to answer? sigh… the little business decisions that cost thousands of dollars…

P.S. Hope you’re all well lovelies… big hugs & apologies for business interfering with VISIONARINESS :)  xx

Okay, so after all the hoo haa, and the accolades and the chatting and the considering and the rejecting and the curiosity I began to feel ever so slightly creeping up on me, I finally broke down and read ‘eat pray love’.

My friend liz (a very wise lady) said that it’s the kind of book that you either love or hate, and I’d so prepared myself for the snobbery of superiority of hating it, and, very dissappointingly can tell you that actually… I kinda liked it!

Saved by completely juicy snippets of facts on life, culture, history, & theology, ‘eat pray love’ was a beautiful journey to go on with elizabeth g. There were many times when I nodded knowingly, shook my head, tut tutted, chuckled out loud, and stopped to ponder… If anything I recommend it as a read to help you consider your perspective on things… what the story is behind it all…

to going deeper…
let’s raise our glasses to that, shall we?

I don’t want to give anything away, except to say that I liked it. Looking forward to reading her confused and over analylising voice (much like the voice in my own head) on the ‘M’ topic in committed…

Hope you guys had a beautiful day…

The other night,
all of a sudden,
& out of nowhere - as is sometimes the case in this city

- the sky lit up!

Painted by the magic
of unexpected fireworks…

thought you’d like to see it too…

Mmmm…
I’m enjoying just pondering over this thought… the precious things of the soul…
how lucky we are to be alive…

Loving too these beautiful surreal scenes created by Noemie Goudal Realities within other realities… can you tell I saw inception on the weekend?

hehehe

P.S. Just wanted to say thanks to you very special visionaries with front bums, bum hugs and general bum commentage ;) You made me grin :) xx
