by the amazing Luci everett of course :) Hello lovelies! Got my computer back online today and so was swamped with Spoonful orders, admin jobs and letters pretty much all day *big email sigh* Anyone figured out how to avoid emails altogether yet? I would love you forever if you knew it… Now, if I owe you one, an email that is, I’m working my way down the list and I promise I will...
HAPPY Australia Day! Yipppeeeeee! So another year has gone by, and DESPITE the rainiest crappiest summer in 50 years (INCLUDING the summer i choose to host an outdoor wedding!) Australia… I still love you more than ever. Your golden shores, your endless horizons, your happy relaxed people, (your terrible service, your sticky bizarre weather-changes) and your wondrous perspective on...
a little butterfly hut today for you lovely visionaries… Can you smell the sweet floating air along the ocean breeze down here? This speaks to me of dreams and poetry lines dreamed up on little strolls along scented lanes… mmm… camera off to hospital, computer almost home, and phone well… don’t get me started… thea. xx
Greetings lovely Visionaries ! I’ve been suffering with the challenges of broken technology over here…. *overwhelmingly big sighs* broken cameras… returned cameras… MORE BROKEN cameras… wiped memory cards… lost whole days of shooting… broken phones… and now broken computers - nooooooooooooo!!! Even my computer is off to hospital this week! What...
I so often post about beautiful landscapes here at visionary HQ. And I guess it’s not really surprising; me being a land lover at heart. I’m one of those unfortunates who commonly experience motion sickness, and so, the earth, and my feet planted soundly on it, is often a place of relief and physical comfort for me - I feel at home on ground and love to roam, appreciate and...
Another quote for today… by Jane Fonda hilariously, but interesting nonetheless - she says - “Everything you have in life can be taken from you except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation. This is what determines the quality of the life we’ve lived — not whether we’ve been rich or poor, famous or unknown, healthy or suffering. What determines our...

Beautiful, no? thea. xx
Something beautiful & heartwarming to end the week? Yes?! My mom sent me an email containing these whimisical love-stuffed images created by the illustrator Ronald Searle who has just passed away. He created the drawings (in the 70s) for his wife Monica, while she suffered from a rare and virulent form of cancer. They depict the old house the couple had bought in the South of France...
and a little more while we’re waiting…?

Damn and Blast!! I am so frustrated over here without my lover (the camera, obviously :) We had literally the most BEAUTIFUL day here in Sydney yesterday and I wanted to show you guys - oh, only a billion amazing things, but all interrupted with the lack of my trusty lens. Sigh, I miss you camera, come home soon. While we’re waiting, how about I distract you with some images...
image by: nezza74 Worked busily & happily away with on of Spoonful’s interns today (yes Spoonful has interns!!! and they’re lovely too!)… trying to get a jump start on this year ahead… marketing (eugh, my least fave) writing, spreading the word… you know, the usual :) No one tells you when you do something creative you’ll spend 10% of your time doing it...
So I got a little scratched up and knocked down by illness… and so did my poor camera. Just before I hurt it I managed to sneak in some photographs of our beautiful humble little Chrismika tree, isn’t he cute? We’re leaving him up a little as we didn’t have ours up before Chrismika PLUS someone mumbled something or other about the 12 days of xmas, and I figured that was...
And here it is - Beautiful Sydney in all its evening firework-filled glory! The people watching, the boats floating… Aaaah, and a new year, to end it all :)
Yes! thea. xx
(via Ann Toebbe) falling asleep here on the couch… a full stomach and a happy heart… work and good behaviour starts tomorrow. Happy New Year! Firework pics acomin tomoz too :)

Quick, before our old year explodes into beautiful light and the world as we know it moves from an 11 to a 12… from single to married…. from day to night and day again, I thought I’d show you my pressies… Any later than now would be silly, it’s silly already now, but heck, why not a little Christmas remnants to jingle us into a new year? I had great fun wrapping...
So last year, for the first time in an age, & in the spirit of organisation, I made myself a wallplanner/calendar. Honestly, after using it, I don’t know how I coped previous years without one! There’s something powerfully comforting in having the year, its rhythms and paces spread out before you in one glance… And I seem to need a whole year, not just a week or month,...
Collected after a little stroll today… do you think the trumpet came out of a Christmas cracker?! It felt a little fated to find :) I really really love the gorgeous patterns, colour splashes and prints that seem to bloom off eucalyptus leaves once they’ve fallen from their mother tree too - hence why I picked up these beauties, naturally. Aren’t they just like jewels or...
hmmmmm, i seem to be eating far more cake than was thought possible for one human lately - anyone else do this each silly season? sigh… must try to get back to normal… pity ‘normal’ doesn’t taste like cake. hehehe How are you all, lovelies? Christmas was magical and we are still eating it and reeling a little… This little bit of calm - and lack of work,...
Merry Christmika lovelies!!!
Hope it’s warm, candle-lit, kind & everything you hoped & dreamt for the holidays…

Okay, so I went into the Spoonful cave yesterday and packaged up ALL contributor and subscriber issues and posted them off….. that is A LOT of stamp licking, let me tell you, and I’m completely exhausted! WHEW!
Next up is a literal jumping into of xmas times with baking and wrapping coming up - what a whirlwind this month has been! We just dropped off our last visitor at the...

Oh my goodness! So, I am in transition between Miss and Mrs and life is busy…. our little nest has been cleaned to a sparkle (yes yes we got cleaners, shucks but we cleaned too!!!) It’s about to be invaded by ‘the relatives’ (hi relatives if you’re reading this :) We wanted it to be perfect for the inspection of my future mother and sister in law…. I even...

So I think I’m going to explode under the pressure of trying to guess what the weather’s going to be like next week. Seriously, I’ve never cared this much. I thought I’d be all relaxed either way… but the sun disappeared today the strong winds have come out and in came the heavy dark clouds… and I lost my cool (pardon the pun :) I know in the scheme of things...
Helllooooooo! So I am HUGELY thankful for the skin recommendations! Trying them all in some way or other - it can’t hurt right? How are you all doing? I imagine you’re Christmas shopping leisurely and plotting xmas trees & chanukiah… bliss*
I’m involved in all the nit-picky jobs… you know… little labels to sit beside tiered wedding cake… shifting...

Twenty days to go…. bow BOW!!

Busy busy busy designing Spoonful 6, this is the phase where slowly the typography slots in with photography, colours & shapes. It begins to make sense, and I get less and less sleep :) A very lovely issue visually & taste-budley though :) hehehe, taste-budley is a funny word :) New invention!
Always have a favourite bit about each, and this one’s lush… if I do say so myself...
Chasing my tail today - bit frustrating but feeling mellow compared to prior weeks :) Going to “chuck an all-nighter” tonight (as we like to say here in Aus) for Spoonful.
In the meantime, a teeny web-moment from me to you. I have ‘living fantasies’ about a particular suburb here in Sydney - we all have them don’t we?! Don’t we?! Anyhow, so to torture myself I...
Hello lovely Visionaries! I can’t believe it’s Monday again, can you?! I know this time of year often feels as though it’s speeding up and weeks begin to whizz by, however throw a wedding into the equation and suddenly time not only whizzes but wooshes, hurtles and screams past frenetically. (Well, it does in my life at least - hehe) The weeks pass in a blink at the moment and...
by Naztrida Well, I ‘fitted’ as it were! Yes! That’s right! I had my fitting today and I quite literally think if I just marry the dress itself, everything will be fine! hehehehe literal *Swoon* princess moments were had. Matching earings were bought (simple pearls, yes, thanks mom :) oh, really faaaaaaaaaaar too much mula was spent (sorry dad) but quite honestly I just felt so...
blushing bride by Karen
Well, I OFFICIALLY haves less than a month till I’m a married woman. Wow. It feels sort of crazy to say that. A month till I’m a married woman. (hehehe pardon me, settling into the idea here. Feels more real to see it in ‘writing’.) You know I haven’t yet squiggled my first name with Mr Visionary’s surname? Gosh! I need to CATCH UP...
Spring is quite literally ‘springing’ here in Sydney. The sun is out, when you walk down the streets, butterflies accompany your steps (literally, little white fluttery ones ;) and happy little sights are there to be seen. Mr Visionary sat in traffic this morning on the harbour bridge and took this photo with his phone, sending it to me - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw. thea. xx
So this wonderful little surprise happened to me inbetween the mania of yesterday and today:
Yesterday I was walking a little in my local suburb and admiring the gorgeous flower buds and seed pods floating about on the ground beneath my feet… I liked them actually to the point where I started a little collection and brought a few of them home to photograph, which I did, laying them...
Spent a lovely reassuring morning getting a wedding hair trial done. It’s all getting very close now!! Have to find earings, shoes (oh dear don’t ask, it’s a bit of a saga) and do some decorations till… and that clock is ticking!!!

The hunt in the Forest c.1465
So I’m on the hunt for a Spoonful cover… again… It’s starting to seem a teeny bit like I’m just constantly in search of a cover. (which I probably am :) I’m sure it was just yesterday that Issue 5’s cover was eluding me… ho hum.
I found an image I LOVE but no one else agrees - as in vehemently, people of all sorts...
All done with the land of pink - yipeeeeee!!
A client of mine is styling her whole office in pink and hosting a tea to raise awareness for breast cancer this month and so we styled her board all in the spirit of love & pinkness :)
Onto the next thing… I realise my posts are getting shorter and shorter, but really so are the days to make spoonful and getting wedding stuff done, so I...
Busily styling some pink for a client the past few days…. getting a bit pinked-out. hehehe

It’s rare for me to quote DesignSponge, which yes, of course, like everyone else I read and peruse very happily (don’t get me started on the new grey, I’m not sure about the grey…) Anyhow, so it is unusual, but, today I am quoting from one of their ‘before & after’ posts, I completely ADORE what they did to this door, yes! Isn’t it gorgeous?? I need...
Today I am thinking of fireflies… I’ve never seen a real firefly, have you? Not sure they have them in Africa or Australia (anyone know?) but it’s something I’ve always secretly wished I could see… they sound so mythical to me… fantastical and beautiful… do they really exist? What sparked it all (hehe pardon the pun) was this radiolab podcast called...
